Vanilla Sheet Cookies


  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk (save egg white)
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • sliced or chopped almonds
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
  2. Beat together all ingredients except egg white.
  3. Press on cookie sheet.
  4. Beat egg whites until frothy.
  5. Brush egg whites on top of the cookies.
  6. Sprinkle with almonds.
  7. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
