The first day will cover what metals are, hand tools, hand operated shrinker/stretchers (including how to "hot rod" them) Wheeling machine set up and operation, oxy-acetylene welding, bead rollers, hammer and dollys. Participants will turn flanges, install wire edges by hand and operate an English wheel. A maximum of 15 participants will be allowed.

The second day, will expand on the first day covering elements of compound curves. Elements of design, how to understand automobile body shapes, design eras and style. Advanced wheeling machine operation, air planishing hammer operation and die selection, and shrinking and beading on the Pullmax machine. The power hammer will also be gone over. Participants will be expected to learn how to shrink on the Pullmax using tucking style tooling, shaping and smoothing with the air hammer and wheeling machine, and developing compound curves using these machine. Fay will end the day making parts as a demonstration of how to take an idea or repair panel from start to actual finish. TIG welding will be addressed.  A maximum of 15 participants will be allowed.

The third day, with only a very limited number (5) of spots, and will require the participant to take the first two days will be entirely devoted to participants making parts they need. Only places for 5 participants will be allowed, and those participants should talk with Fay about what they choose to make. That should be something that they will be actually using for a customer or their own projects at home.

Price for the each of the first two days is $350. per day. Price for the third day will be $600. for the day. Sheet steel 19 gauge, will be provided. If aluminum is to be used, that will need to be provided by the participant. Each day will go from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants on all days will be required to bring welding helmets, gas welding glasses, safety glasses, working gloves, ear protection, as well as their own body hammers and dolly's for use during the work time the first two days. Lunch and snacks will be provided. (Any special dietary requirements should be provided by the individual themselves.)

This is an outstanding opportunity to participate in a version of Fay Butlers seminar, in a different location, and in a well-equipped shop provided by Bryce Wollbrink, at a reasonable rate. This has very limited space and it is first come first served. Fay Butler will be assisted by Pat Woods from Chicago. Pat has participated in Fay's seminar and apprentice program and will provide additional direction during the work time. Fay Butler will be in the area, as he is working with Wyotech (on a private seminar later in the week for the instructors at that college in Laramie WY. That private seminar is only open to Wyotech instructors.)
