| The jaw area of the snip is stamped out of a flat plate of rolled alloy steel, then hardened, resulting in a fine grain having more toughness for resisting chipping and holding a sharp edge. Unlike all other brands that are investment castings with course grain that chip and have little ware resistance. Another feature is hardened pivot bolts. Self-locking nuts are used to allow for easy adjusting of shear blade gap. Klenk™ was the original manufacturer of aviation snips starting in 1934.
