On May 14, 2008 12 students and their instructors from Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton, MA visited Fay's shop as a day field trip. Fay and Jonas discussed what metals are from the inside, what compound curves are, and elements of automotive design. They then gave a demonstration of making a motorcycle fender with a turned edge and bead. Followed by some hands on time for the students using air planishing hammers, wheeling machines, and shrinking on a pullmax. This allowed the ideas laid out to be put to actual test. | ||
